UC Merced Master of Management Tuition and Financial Aid

When evaluating the worth of any advanced degree, it's crucial to consider the return on investment (ROI), a measure used in both business and education to calculate the true value of investments, (from time and money to effort), by weighing the program's benefits against its costs.

UC Merced understands that pursuing higher education is a significant decision. The Gallo Master of Management degree isn't just a credential. It's structured to help ensure that students' investments yield practical skills, solid professional connections, and enhanced career opportunities.

The program’s primary aim is to launch you into the professional world with confidence. With a dedicated placement service and an ambitious goal of 100% placement within six months post-graduation, you're better positioned for rapid entry into management roles across diverse disciplines.

Financial Aid

Per Regent’s policy, at least one-third of PDST revenues are returned to financial aid for students in the program. UC Merced disperses this aid strategically to ensure that qualified students admitted to the program have the greatest possible chance of attending. The intention is that no qualified student will be unable to pursue an MM degree because of financial need. Program faculty and staff will work with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to award fellowships to meet student needs, leveraging program revenues, student loans, and other sources of student funding. If student need exceeds available funds, program faculty and staff work with the Graduate Division and industry sponsors to raise additional fellowship support.

Domestic students who want to be considered for financial aid must complete a FAFSA or California Dream Act application and verify that it has been received by the UC Merced Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

International students are not eligible for state-based financial aid.

Notes

Tuition and fee totals do not include living expenses–annual estimates for Merced, CA, are $9,746 for housing/meals and $1,406 for transportation.

Tuition and fee amounts represent currently approved or proposed amounts and may not be final. Actual tuition and fees are subject to change by the University of California as determined to be necessary or appropriate. Final approved tuition and fee levels may differ from the amounts presented.

Some or all instruction for all or part of the 2022-23 Academic Year may be delivered remotely depending on public health conditions. Tuition and fees have been set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the academic year.

Student Health Insurance

As a non-academic condition of enrollment, all students must purchase Student Health Insurance (SHIP) or request a waiver of this fee. The fall SHIP provides coverage from August through December; the spring SHIP provides coverage from January through mid-August. Students who wish to cover spouses, domestic partners or children should contact Health Services at health@ucmerced.edu for rates.

Application Fees

Current application fees are $120 for domestic applicants and $140 for international applicants.
